What Is Artist Coaching?
Whether you are a new songwriter looking to develop their practice, an established producer who is eager to take their work to a new level, or an entrepreneur seeking new ways to grow their music business sustainably, there is nothing more powerful than having a mentor to help you along your journey.
Daniel Di Monte’s extensive background in music and personal development strategies have led his to work with international award-winning artists and creative professionals in honing their craft, cultivating self-awareness, and mastering the level of discipline required for peak performance and expression.
While his areas of expertise include music production in Ableton Live, music theory, composition/arrangement, songwriting, and musician coaching, the scope of Di Monte’s teaching extends far beyond the technical aspects of music creation or performance. The heart of his work is helping artists and entrepreneurs in the digital arts industry find clarity in their visions, understand their strengths and weaknesses, overcome their fears or insecurities, and produce work that fully expresses the artist's message and emotions.

• Discover your personal strengths and bring out your unique sound as a songwriter and/or producer.
• Expand your production abilities in Ableton Live, and learn to create a song from the early writing stages through mixing and mastering a release-ready track.
• Learn how to find your audience, build a following, and explore different ways of releasing music.
• Complete challenges and exercises that push you outside of your comfort zone and stretch your ideas.
• Identify and address any fears or self-doubts that may be blocking your creative output or fullest expression.
• Develop good workflow practices that align with your personality type and goals.
• Develop visual content (artwork, music videos, press photos, brand profile) to accompany the release.
• Create a business plan to design an inspiring lifestyle, with healthy work habits that will support your career long-term.

The Format
• Twelve 60-minute video calls on Zoom (including screen sharing of project files and branding materials).
• Twelve 20-minute check-in calls (brief meetings scheduled between each full coaching session).
• Writing exercises, mindset development, and creative assignments to be completed each week of the program.
• Online support and feedback from the coach with 48-hour or less email response time (Monday-Friday).
• Unlimited access to all Ableton Live tutorials in Online Courses section.
• List of additional reading and online resources to accompany the program.
• Flexible scheduling, with the option to space the program out between 3-6 months of time depending on the artist’s pace and availability.
About The Coach
Daniel Di Monte is a composer, filmmaker, producer, studio engineer, and interdisciplinary artist based in Italy, Japan, and the United States. As a member of Chicago producer team DAN & OCEAN. and founder of STUDIO DI MONTE, he has taught trumpet, music production, composition, and choir arrangement at several acclaimed institutions—including University of Iowa School of Music, The Newman Catholic Center, Lincoln-Way Central High School, and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians Convention.
Di Monte has built and contributed several hours of music to major film studio libraries, podcasts, YT / VTuber live streams, web & network TV programs, and Blockbuster AAA video games — with clients including America’s Got Talent (NBC & HULU), The Crew 2 (Ubisoft & Ubisoft Milan), 411 Music Group, and the world’s best-selling video game franchise Call of Duty (Activision & Raven Software). He has also produced for emerging American artists Pablo Armendariz (20th Century Fox, HBO, HULU, MTV, BRAVO, PBS) and Lewis Knudsen (411 Music Group).
In 2019, Di Monte’s extensive knowledge of music production and creative strategies led to his being hired as Music Director and Composer by Rarefied Recording’s prestigious Recording & Mixing Workshop; working directly with RIAA Gold-certified mixing engineer Brian Scheuble (Elton John, Ice Cube, Nine Inch Nails, Zac Brown Band, Tina Turner, Fiona Apple, and John Mayer). Additionally, his solo work as a recording artist has been featured by the best in tastemaker media, including NPR, A&R Factory, Medium, and The Daily Iowan.
Di Monte holds a B.A. in Music from University of Iowa School of Music, and a B.S. in Nursing from University of Iowa College of Nursing. In addition to his work in classical and contemporary music, he has 10 years of medical practice in multiple nursing specialties. He has been a regular guest on Adrianne Behning’s popular medical podcast “Nursing Uncensored”, while also being an active supporter of his local and global music communities as a voting member of The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), and contributor to The MusiCares Foundation.
